The Food Processor – Biblical Worldview – Part 1

What does a food processor do? We think of a machine that chops or blends food into small pieces to make it easier to eat. We get most of our food from the grocery store and do not see other processing that takes place. We usually trust that it is good but we know if we were able to do it ourselves it would be better for us. But with grocers, farmers, restaurants, roadside stands, and precious friends with gardens, we are blessed to have so many choices.

A trusted source is extremely important in worldview as well as in food. The Bible says, "Put no more trust in man, who has only the breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he?" ~Isaiah 2:22  What are we to do?

A worldview is how we see the world and how we use what we know to be true to walk in it without fear. What is the source of truth? There can only be one. This is the most important question anyone will ever answer in a lifetime.

Pilate asked Jesus, "what is truth?" and then walked away not even waiting for an answer (John 18:38). Sadly, many are like him and are content to "do what is right in their own eyes" (Deuteronomy 12:8), but that, beloved ones has nothing to do with truth.

The Ultimate Source

Jesus said, "I Am the way, The Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. ~John 14:6  Before Pilate walked away, Jesus told him, "For this reason, I was born and have come into the world, to testify to The Truth. Everyone who belongs to The Truth listens to my voice" ~John 18:37  and follows/obeys. (John 10:27)

Jesus, The Word (John 1), is The Source of Truth which we must process and filter everything. In this series of articles we will examine the processing of Spiritual Food, Cultural Food, Informational Food (News, etc), Political Food (without mentioning modern names, lol), and Educational Food through The Source to help us be in the world yet not of the world. We will name heroes of the faith and show how they sought The Source to make the right choices and influence the world, God's Way.
